Browser redirected by adds in CEF

Browser redirected by adds in CEF
I visit this site many times without signing it and over the last few years my mobil Safari IOS has been redirected to adds a few times a week.
The browser just crashes into a pop-up and and is locked into add, have to close browser and clear all web data.
In the last week its got so bad I can't even get to log in.
This is what is left in history after crash, just a few, many more
winrewards.co/larden
media.uy/c
clickfordeal.click
making money.tv
whoever runs the adds for CEF is causing this, somehow they manipulate javascript but don't fully understand how. Google needs to police the adds better.
Any newbe that visits and is promptly redirected will not come back.
PS Last week my OSX Safari browser on home computer was locked into a redirect that said I needed to update Flashplayer, I removed that ponderous software from my machines long ago.
This happened four times but has since stopped.
CEF is the only site that does this to me.
Newcomers will be driven away.

I use Safari on OSX, never had an ad or been redirected while on CRF. I do get the Flash Player upgrade window occasionally, but that's about all. Must be something in your settings you can change to stop it.

Ads visible when logged out are placed by the forum host Forumotion. I pay to have the ads removed for members. I could also pay to have them removed for guests but it costs a lot more. I'll contact Forumotion again about the ads. I sent them a message about an ad that was blocking the login text fields, I have since added a login feature to the sidebar (visible only if logged out).

The image server is absolutely evil in android. Blinking crap, popups... annoying. The only reason I try is to upload from my phone is to avoid having to link to a computer.

oh yeah, Servimg doesn't work on my phone anymore either. I thought it was just because my phone was old.
Re: Browser redirected by adds in CEF
I noticed my log in screen blocked by banner add a few days ago, I appreciate the add removal you pay for, thank you.
Not that big a deal for me logged out but new users would be scared off. Its more of a nuisance than a security issue.

I have a Verizion Samsung Note 4. It isn't "new"... OK it is now discontinued so I guess that makes it "old"

Yes, but only because it cleared my preference for the "classic" version of the forum and allowed me to sign in using the newer version.
It came back after I got bumped again, which usually happens 3-4 times a day. I use the keep me logged in function, but it doesn't matter.
Today however, the advert banner riding over the log in disappeared.

Yep, very annoying redirect when trying to log in. I had to let the log in page load, then hit the X on the address bar before the redirect brought me to never never land.
Using iOS on my iPad.
I also check the 'keep me logged in' box, to no avail.

Redirects are worse than ever, IOS browser redirected by,
rewards.mob
simplegirls.net
OSX browser redirected by fake Flashplayer update, as I click "log in", could not get past it to log on 5 or 6 times.
The Flashplayer redirect is an attempt to install malicious software, not good!
I've run numerous scans on my machines and they come up clean.
The folks that run the adds on this site are real scum.
I'll check back in a few months and see if its been cleaned up.
I use a lot of different web sites and CEF is the only problem, for a while now.

Re: Browser redirected by adds in CEF
I've contacted Forumotion (who hosts the forum) over this several times now. Is it automatically redirecting when you try to get to CEF? I added a login feature to the sidebar hoping it wouldn't be affected by the ads. I do pay to have the ads removed for members (once logged in), they want a lot more to remove them completely.

In case some of you guys haven't noticed yet, you can login from the sidebar. It is only visible when logged out. It shouldn't be affected by ad placement.

I had noticed that Jacob.. I'm just a creature of habit. Recently when logging-in; a pop-up loaded over the login.. which I clicked-on by mistake. It brought me to a page that said "all of my logins/passwords to several sites I frequent, had been compromised." It scared the crap out of me.. but my wife assured me that was just a hoax.. and that our AV software wouldn't allow that to happen.
I've had some other issues with re-directs.. but they could well be on my end.
Thanks for all that you do to keep the forum safe and functioning. We all appreciate it Jacob.
Re: Browser redirected by adds in CEF
I noticed that the other day when I was "redirected" and thought it unusual as I had never seen that before. I stay "logged in" here except when there is a power failure and I have to login again.
The worst is Photobucket. Pop-ups, PC helpers, etc. Thankfully with the image hosting service available here I seldom use them any more.
I envy those of you that understand this technology and it's ramification's. It's mostly Greek to me. While my family lives for their "Smart" phones, I get along with a flip @ $25 every three months and my rather ancient desk based PC.

Hey Bob.. It's getting increasingly harder for me to have the patience to read through a "novel".. to figure out and re-call how to use a device that's supposed to make my life easier..

Same here roddie. "When all else fails, read the instructions" is my motto. Patience and time for me, with a foot on a banana peel and the other in a six foot hole I don't have much of either.

Re: Browser redirected by adds in CEF
Ian always has good advice so I started looking into add blockers, there are many choices and some are malware themselves.
I decided on one called "Adguard", installed and started using it and WOW!, no adds, no tracking, no browser hijacks!!!
I tried it first on Mac OSX and it worked so well put it on all my moble devices running IOS.
It is light and fast, does not use much of the system resources.
I was not getting hijacked by clicking the adds, clicking anywhere on the page would crash the browser.
Anyone running Apple Safari should look into Adguard. For IOS it is in the App Store, a safe download.
Anyone running OSX it can be found by going to Safari preferences, extensions, more extensions. This leads to a page in the Apple site that has a safe link to Adguard.
This add on is TITS!!!!
