Bump... Love this!
Oldenginerod wrote:Here's about the only film clip our band has. Just a bit of fun. Our lead singer's son had a school project in media so wanted to do the clip. The old guy who owns the local junk shop got married at 60 & we played at the wedding and Steve wrote this song about them. Filmed the clip in his shop and used the soundtrack from a live gig we did. Turned out ok for a bunch of amateurs.
In case you're wondering, that's me pretending (pretty poorly) to play the tea-chest bass. I prefer four strings. We have another clip we did for Steve's nephew's school project also, but it's not up on Youtube yet. More fun. Gotta have fun. No-one ever pays us.

Sure thing! such a fun tune! I've got a gig tonight at Lou's Café about 5mi. away. We've been playing there for years.. and will play there again on Thanksgiving Eve. Also their Christmas Party in December.
Tonight.. people will be dressed-up for Halloween! Lynne is going as "Batgirl". I'll post a pic here in a little while. We'll be leaving for Lou's by 7pm.
Here's a little toe-tappin' music in the meanwhile..

Who is it?
It's "Batgirl"!!
Re: My "other" hobby...
Looks like Bat Girl has something scary going on underneath the belt there.

Dang, I just spent ages writing a reply & it's gone. Rusty's post must have run it over and it scurried off into the cyber-bushes to die.
Anyway, I pretty much said thanks for rememberin' and there's another video on the way. As soon as it's uploaded onto youtube I'll post it.
More later.

Roddie, Wow, you guys certainly have picked an appropriate name for the band. still burning really Rocks!
Lynne would have won the "best costume" at the party we went to last night. Lots of zombies and witches but nothing as good as her Bat girl!

Oh that? That's a turbo-fan. The air-intake is a large V-shaped tunnel-ram.. just above the "bat" symbol.
Someone asked at the gig last night; what accessories she had in the belt. I replied with; "a capsule of Viagra"..
BTW Rus.. It is red-eye.. not contact-lenses.
Re: My "other" hobby...

Thanks Doug! Opening for Marshall Tucker was a trip! We played our set.. and after the last song the crowd was shouting "LET THEM PLAY"!! A huge ego-boost for us all.
A few pics from that gig at "Indian Ranch" campground in Webster, MA on 8-11-13
My younger brother Jeff bought me that Harley Davidson shirt to wear for the gig. He's been a good brother to me.

Re: My "other" hobby...
Our band has featured in a couple of "novelty" songs here before. These ones are a little more serious.
Background- Our band was to perform at a Christian farmers' men's convention at a place called Yakandandah. Of course, Covin-19 put an end to that, so Steve decided to strip it back to bare minimum and record a few songs for the event which was moved on-line. Actually, I don't even appear in these clips, so you'll have to imagine a full band backing these songs.
Steve's words regarding hostpital pertain to his daughter Sally who is gravely ill and not expected to survive much longer. Steve is a man of serious faith, which shows through in his words. If that bothers anyone, at least give us a shot and listen to the songs, then make up your own minds.
I hope they strike a "chord" with you (pun intended).

I should say, thanks to Roddie for starting this thread and giving some of us a chance to be indulgent with of-topic stuff.

Not wanting to appear self-indulgent, but I thought I'd bump these video clips to keep them in view a little longer.

The tragedy of this is that we lost this beautiful young lady to cervical cancer in 2016.
