One more thought on eSnipe, a large amount of money place at ten seconds left will always win, but it only takes .50 cents more, place at the last second or two before anyone has a chance to respond to win and will probably save you some money.

That and you can be someplace else doing something else when your auction is going off.

Bid at market value or how bad you want it, if you get it for less good for you!

True Mark,

Keep in mind Ebay is a proxy bid system so even if you dump a huge load of cash down it's only gonna bid to the next increment above the current high bidder. What I am saying is it will work either way except esnipe programs will only bid up to your max wheras the crazy high max bid method ensures you will always be one step ahead of the esnipe users and still only pay .50 cents more than than the other guys max bid.

It just occured to me that now that I shared this info we may see some $100 babe bees out there if we are bidding against one another. Might be a good idea if we announce our intentions first! Although I may be the only one dumb enough to do it.

One more thing, I don't want to give the impression that I am an Ebay know it all cause I am not. I have lost many auctions. So take any info I presented with a grain of salt. I just wanted to share something that has worked for me so I can help others. The method I described may not be my idea as others here may have already be doing it. Most days I'm a buy it now kinda guy and not the ebay rebel I described.

Happy bidding!

Yeah, that's me too, most of the time I stick with "Buy it now", but I occasionally go a bit mad! I was outbid the other day on an engine I had been watching for a week, no-one had put a bid in in all that time, I was intending to wait till the last possible second before I bid. Unfortunately, She Who Must Be Obeyed told me that we had to go out about an hour before the bidding ended, so I put a fairly high bid on and had to leave it. When I came back, four people had bid, and one, needless to say, won it. I was well p***** off! Obviously everyone else had the same idea!

Wilf another reason I use my iPhone!
I can bid as lon as I have phone reception.
I even get a notification message when an item I am watching has 15 mins to go.
If you or She who must be obeyed has an iPhone I highly recommend downloading the eBay app.

I have a Kindle too, but I find the Web really awkward to use on it.

I am approaching 12 years of marriage this Feb and I find that I am still learning something new about the fairer sex every day. Something tells me that I will go to the grave still lacking full understanding!

I still haven't won anything for John Goddard, and that burns me. Actually I did win something for him except he never asked me to bid for it! Kind soul that he is he offered to bail me out of it.

A Genie gives a man one wish, man says "I hate flying, build me a bridge across the Atlantic so I can drive to America!"
Genie says "Now, come on! some things even I can't do, pick another wish"
Man says "OK, give me the ability to understand women"
Genie says "How many lanes wide do you want this bridge?" lol!

[quote="Mark Boesen"]Kim, what is that cannon called?

I named it "Thunder Magic"...it's a Barrett M-82A-1 Semi Automatic .50 Caliber Rifle. It's magazine holds ten rounds, and it can fire them as fast as you can pull the trigger.

Fully loaded and ready-to-rock, it weighs 36 pounds. It's scope is a Leopold Mark 4 8.5-25x50mm LR/T with a Mil Dot Reticle.

Contrary to appearances, it's recoil is very manageable, and it can be fired all day without too much fatigue.

I posted a video over in the Redneck Section, showing us firing this and other great stuff !
