Old broken PT-19 parts

Old broken PT-19 parts
Hello all,
Anyone have any broken but complete unflyable PT-19 parts that are going to be thrown away? I'm looking for enough parts to try and make molds to try and cast new plastic parts and hopefully have a new flyable plane.
Thanks,
Shawn

Re: Old broken PT-19 parts
Yo Shawn,
I may have a broken Pt wing. I think it's snapped on two about halfway out the lead-in side. If you think you could use it, I go see if I can dig it out!
Later !!! Busted Parts Kim

Being broken in two shouldn't be a problem. Just let me know if you find it and how much you are asking for it.

Re: Old broken PT-19 parts
Shawn, if you really think you can find somebody to make these, I could be convinced to ship you my stout, but not quite perfect 19.... after the Intercontinental 19 Fly It If You Got it day. I plan on buying a couple more (one for me and one for the kiddo), but I am hunting ebay.
The deal is, if I send it to you, I get a first run, 21st century 19 at cost.... with a certificate of authenticity
With cars so computerized, RTFs, and everybody hiring 'Jose' to cut the lawn, teens and 20s have no chance to learn about simple internal combustion engines. My Kiddo, who got a full ride to MIT, had never heard of a read valve engine. And when I saw her off in Boston, a few of the students were making shields for some crazy thing, and they had no idea of how to use a screw (they didn't understand that a screw should be run through the thin piece into the thick piece rather than the other way around). If I could dump a few of these planes into an engineering school, maybe those kids could actually learn what we grew up with.

Re: Old broken PT-19 parts
Thanks for the offer. But I'm not having them made. I'm going to try making my own molds for both resin and plastic casting.flyjsh wrote:Shawn, if you really think you can find somebody to make these, I could be convinced to ship you my stout, but not quite perfect 19.... after the Intercontinental 19 Fly It If You Got it day. So right now I'm just looking for broken but complete unflyable parts as I am going to be in the trial and error stage. If I am able to successfully mold a new wing from the one that Kim is sending me, I'll send out a couple for free for flight testing.

Re: Old broken PT-19 parts
Hey Kim, I got the wing today and I have it glued back together. The only thing I have to do is sand and scrape away the fiberglass patch and a little prep work and it should be ready to become a master to make the mold.
Thanks again Kim,
Shawn

This is a new venture for me so If successful, I'll make sure forum members get a sweet deal! I'm gonna try to shoot for $20.00 per airframe less engine for forum members.
Also, some more good news, I think I may have found someone who has the rest of the parts needed to mold a complete airframe.
