NIB Vega Funny car found!
Well when it rains,it pours! I went to a gas & steam engine show today in PA. And in the flea market section I found a NIB Cox Vega Funny car.Box is only missing the clear window. All tools, glow plug lead, plastic body prop stand too display car with body tilted up in the front and the instruction booklet and warranty card.Car is perfect except for a small chip in a decal. $140.00 brought it home!

Re: NIB Vega Funny car found!
I remember when the Vega's were new! They must have really run with a proper V8 in them!Little did we know that a .049 was an option!getback wrote:Not easier still had to move them around a bit to get them to where I could post , Sorry I didn't put all of them on just most,Nice looking Racer !! Re: NIB Vega Funny car found!
The Vega was never optioned with a V8. The Ford Maverick was though, very similar looking car in stock form.
Unless you were thinking of this Vega....
Of course it sported a 494 cube Keith Black blown Hemi.

I remember the Chevy dealer (Simon Chevrolet) in Franklin, Ma (USA) introducing the 1975 Cosworth Vega. It was priced approx. $900 lower than a 75 Corvette. The overhead-cam heads were Cosworth (British) built. A four or five speed manual transmission was available on the less than 4000 units built between 1975/76.

I have seen both these guys run at the strip not far away , my cousin and I use to ride our bikes over there and get in free Real Fun days . Hard to believe guys are doing 200 mph in the 1/8 mile (but not legal ) for the bracket . Don't remember seeing that broad with Jungle Jim Though lol . had a friend with a Mazda that had a 302 in it , that was scary crazy !! getback

I know that the Vega came with a 4 banger.....But anytime you shoe horn a V8 into a small lite car it's bound to go like stink!
