Re: Brodak Mustang Build
I like it Jim! Nice looking model. It's a Mustang... It gets automatic kudos! Have you done any more with the trim-tab arrangement? I want to learn more about that.
Re: Brodak Mustang Build
Thanks Roddie!
No progress on the trim tab yet. Right now I'm focusing on getting paint done whine I still have a place to do it. My wife and I are closing on a house dec. 28 and it has a carport, not an enclosed garage so getting a good paint job will be a little more work then. I'll have my hands full with home improvement projects so I don't know when this thing will get done.

Jim- Â don't worry it looks like it should turn out fine. Beauty is only skin deep, so ya just gotta get some good "skin" painted on. Â Whoa, closing on a house, your gonna have a ton of honeydo's, for sure. Wish you luck in getting it finished before the move.

Jim.. Congratulations on the closing. I hope the weather cooperates in your time-window. It's all good. Relocation helps you get re-acquainted with your tools/model stock. I am sure you'll get a work-space set-up for this Winter. Consider it a "home-improvement" project. It's a passion of yours.. and should be included in the master-plan.
Re: Brodak Mustang Build
Looks OK to me Jim, with the right color I think it will iron out to a good finish and as long as it fly's good then what the hell . How far away is your move taking you ? Wish you the beat on the new home there's always something that you just don't like , luckily ii am pretty easy going with the house thing as long as its warm and keeps me dry. getback

Eric,
I'm moving down the street about two miles, staying in central Phoenix for now.

I've always mixed up my own sanding sealer using aerogloss clear dope. Franks Hobby House was out of clear so bought aerogloss sanding sealer instead. Amazing stuff, way better sealer than my home brew.

That's the stuff my flying friend Bob the builder says has been his favorite for years. Too bad they don't make the colors any more. Has it got a particulate suspension in it? He told me I could use the clear mixed with talc too.
Hey, that pink matches the red goop you put on it the other day.

Rusty,
Yes it has some sort of particulate in it.
Once I put polyspan on the wings my son said the red stuff looked like bacon! He was right.

I like CF control rods, they give that bit of extra precision to your control input. And it looks professional too. I even use a tiny CF tube on my Li'l Satan. Cute. Which reminds me, I have a 1/2A Mustang and another Li'l Satan still in the box.

White fillets on pink tissue packs the aesthetic punch of 1970s feminine hygiene product packaging. Should spray primer Monday.

Nope, you can still buy it here and the last gallon I purchased was under a new label by Chroma Color. The numbers are still the same 3608S.

Re: Brodak Mustang Build
hmmm...from everything i'd read, seen or heard, it was a foregone conclusion that DuPont was taking it off the market? I guess that goes to show you don't believe everything you read, hear or see.
Re: Brodak Mustang Build
Jim I use Aero Gloss Thinner about 1/2 and 1/2 ,, I tried to get that DuPont stuff and no one at the paint stores know of it . EricJPvelo wrote:Eric,

Wicked Jim! Nice to have paintin' weather. That can put a damper on finishing a build. Looking forward to seeing it all decked-out!
