I have been flying nearly every day here in Wichita KS. It's been swell to say the least. These long jobs suck, but it's good to know at the end of the day I have dedicated concrete circles only a mile away from the base.

I had a splended surprise today with the Cox engines, but rounded out the evening with a no wind flying session. I was able to stunt anywhere in the circle that I wanted to. The real excitement was when a long given up on plane came into it's own. My full fuse Twister was built with very stiff hinges and hunted to the point where it was no fun, last week I cut off the old and installed new pin hinges. What a difference and what a pleasure to fly. Turns on a dime and runs like a thoroughbred horse. K&B .40 powered running SIG 10/25. APC 10x5.

I was so used to flying my heavy Ringmaster that I was over controlling during my first couple flights. It turns so well and immediately with input. Had it figured out after a couple flights.

I am feeling on top of the world!

Ron

Wow, that's great. I had no idea you were getting some flying time. Glad you breathed some new life into your old Ringmaster. Is that the one you stripped and worked and reworked so hard, resurrecting from a sad old slagged attic queen? An eBay find if I recall? Flying is good for the body and soul, I think it's keeping me alive, though I do look pretty rough in the last seconds of my recent Li'l Satan video. Eh, what the hell, ya gotta be alive to look bad standing up. I'll take it.

Keep at it, Buddy, get the good out of your days.
Rusty

P.S. Don't get too complacent in a dead-air situation, just remember to step back and forth to cut a fresh wake on every pass, lest you find yourself pulling out in a vacuum some dreadful time. That's what kilt my "Dirtybird" Skyray at Watt's the evening after the October '14 contest.

I guess I didn't write that correctly, the plane in question is my full fuse Twister. It was built very well, but the hinges were always stiff.

It's okay, writing has a way of doing that to you when you're excited.
