This is of East German origin, early 80's I think and also came with carb and exhaust flap to convert to RC.

Portions of casting and machine work (head) appear a little rough. Perhaps follows Duke Fox's philosophy, that the finish work on innards count the most?

This is usually the result of sand casting. This is also one of those engines that demand the inside to be inspected before running.

How were they as runners, decent performing engines? Regarding inspecting innards, I learned early on to check all engines. 2 Fuji .099S-II ABC's I bought new in the box in the mid 1980's, crankcases were full of aluminium grit. Apparently the manufacturer did not clean parts before assembly. Perhaps a desperate effort by Fuji prior to closing their doors forever?
