No info, just speculation... Hans Graupner was a member of the Graupner family (Graupner Modellbau), he passed away in 2010 when he was 81 years old. In 1973 he would have been in his late 30s. I think this paperweight may have been a gift from Mr Leroy to mr Hans, maybe?

It's in German and my German is a bit rusty, but maybe someone else can interpret it. Google used to have a page where you could feed an URL and then it would translate the page behind the said URL... I couldn't find it anymore, maybe I should Google it

Yes, I am fluent in German and am aware that Graupner was an official Cox distributor. Hans Graupner is the founder's son. Was just curious about the engine itself.

The engine is a Tee Dee .010 (you can distinguish between a .020 and the .010 by looking at the glow head).
Suspending Cox engines in Lucite is nothing new. Cox engine paperweights come up from time to time (whether they were made at Cox to be given away as promotional items or made by someone else is the mystery). I'd say this one was likely made by someone at Cox and given to Graupner, perhaps by Bill Selzer who was the company president at the time.
Along the same lines as the tie clip.
