Jon Pousette Dart (Band)
A local (to me at the time; in S.E. Massachusetts circa early-mid 70's thru the early 80's) soft-rock band that had a few hit songs.
This one I thought to be appropriate for anyone experiencing Winter. Nice.. easy-listening.. nice vocal-harmony arrangements too. A few of my favorite things.
An early favorite of mine..
Some of you may know their biggest hit...

I remember them, Roddie. They were a
life raft/refuge in a sea of disco sludge.

Played it. Soft rock indeed. As I have mentioned I like all kinds of music but hard rock is at the end of the line, that and I was brought up with Bill Haley and his Comets, We're going to rock around the clock tonight, pretty heady stuff back in the 50's.
But I liked Disco. Donna Summer's - MacArthur Park still drives me a little nutz.
MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it..............................
She and Richard Harris owned this song, with the tip going to Harris.

Donna does a nice rendition, here's her performance in 1999, I read in YouTube she did first in 1978, a decade after Richard Harris:
but some reason I still enjoy the original by Richard in 1968:

I didn't have to courage to link those videos George
, but I'm glad that you did.
However, doesn't do them justice. Need the woofers and tweeters turned up to near full volume to really enjoy. I have the original recordings and when I want to really hear them I go out to the cabin with speakers hung from the rafters.

Good thing I live in the country.

Weird Rene, Mad Max maybe. Not my genre, but the contrast is memorable.

"Roddie" circa 2009 playin' keys with StilBurnin' band in Laconia, NH for Bike Week. This venue was the Garden-side (reverse-side) of the Stage-View Sub-Shop. We had played both venues.. over the years.. as well as the "Lobster-Pound" and the "Broken Spoke".. all in Laconia, NH. One year we shuttled between Maine and New Hampshire. "Bentley's"; a roadhouse in Arundel, Maine was another venue for us. A great place really. A post & beam main building with a big bar, lots of tables.. motor-cycles hanging from the ceiling.. a campground.. yes I said a campground.
In this vid; I'm singing lead, Kim Corey is playing the Harp, Rick Trebino on drums, Dennis "DD" Douglas on bass guitar, Tom Liberatore and Steve Gunnard on 1st and 2nd lead guitars; Steve being lead-vocal. I just happen to be singing lead on this one..

Re: music vids.. some of your favorites
Nice, easy listening Eric, thanks for sharing, to be honest, I never heard of STYX before. Although I must admit that after high school graduation in 1972, I lost touch with much of music after, not listening much to. Most of what I had were recordings from Hawaii, having lived there for 17 years before leaving permanently in 1982.
With all the worldwide strange events before our eyes never experienced before, reminds me of this old song that I grew up with in junior high school, popular through high school:
With all the worldwide strange events before our eyes never experienced before, reminds me of this old song that I grew up with in junior high school, popular through high school:
In the White Room by Cream in 1967, lyrics wrote:
In the white room with black curtains near the station.
Blackroof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings.
Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes.
Dawnlight smiles on you leaving, my contentment.
Ill wait in this place where the sun never shines;
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves.
You said no strings could secure you at the station.
Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows.
I walked into such a sad time at the station.
As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning.
Ill wait in the queue when the trains come back;
Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves.
At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd.
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten.
Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes.
Shes just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings.
Ill sleep in this place with the lonely crowd;
Lie in the dark where the shadows run from themselves.
