TD with Schnuerle Porting

Post  anm2 on Sat Oct 06, 2018 9:31 am

Wow, $429 seems awful steep for this engine. I can't imagine that performance would be significantly better, and possibly worse. I looked in the cox manuel and saw that Bill Atwood produced some prototype schneurle ported TDs, and some ran well, and others did not. I guess this would fall into the realm of curiosity. Andy

E-Bay Item# 352472439333, Rare Cox-Kustom Kraftsmanship Tee Dee 049 Schnuerle
Andy, this is being discussed in another thread, but in general it is agreed that about the only real merit to the engine is its value to collectors. Regarding the $429, it is a little high, but it seems about par; at least he's not asking a couple $1,000's for it like some others.
