Re: One man's junk.................
If you do as he says, you might consider switching to a fuel bowl w/o the Thimble Drome engraving. Double check with Boesen on that, but I don't think that first version back plate was ever mated to an engraved fuel bowl at the factory.

I'll check that out Fred. But I will spray two small pieces of metal, coat one with clear Lustrkote wait a week or two then drop some fuel on each. But we already know the outcome;
Thanks Victor, you may be right but I believe I have others with that combination. I will have to check that.
Once you lay paint, things go pretty fast then you hit a roadblock. Seems my latest printer ink is water soluble. I have printed out many decals on decal paper and never had this happen. Got to go to option two whatever that is.
Still a lot to do, tail wheel, controls, elevator hinges, decals, etc.
Picture added:
Couldn't help it. I used all the original hardware except for the engine mount screws.

Yeah, Not everybody knows that I lost my wife of 59 years, three years and 8 months ago to Alzheimer's.
Knowing her, it would have been ok as long as I cleaned it up to as new condition. Still miss her every day.

My apologies for being a wise guy. My mother passed in September after a four year battle with same. It isn't pretty.

Looks very good there. Sometimes simple looking is better than complex. And I like it! You did a great job of bring it back to glory, and she shall treat you the same.
