Re: When will wheels be loved???
That brings up a lot of questions. The show is easy, but the go is a little different.
Are we talking Bugs, Blasters, vans and Buggies?
Or Gurney, Corvettes, Riviera’s etc Mercedes prop rod, shrike?
We would have to nail it down to tethers or free-run. And then we get in to modified or unmodified.
I would love to see it happen, I can’t participate, but would be glad to CD the event.
I really like the idea, it’s something new.

Re: When will wheels be loved???
What do you all think? Should we narrow it down to only Cox/TD production models? Mark

I think the problem with that is it really limits the playing field. Not many have production models and even less would be willing to run them.

Re: When will wheels be loved???
As a starting point, I suggest the following:
1) Gas powered by a Cox engine (from .010 TD to .15 Conquest)
2) Propeller driven or axle driven
3) 3 categories:
- Vehicles sold under the name of Cox or Thimble Drome (let's say sold in a box bearing those logos)
- Vehicles produced by other makes using a Cox engine.
- Self made vehicles with a Cox engine.
No other categories or subdivisions.
Static or running or both???

Re: When will wheels be loved???
Should we have the contest 3 or 4 times a year? Show or run or both? Submit either videos/pictures with back stories about the car, owner and where the picture was taken. This would be a part of the contest equation as our members are worldwide...Mark

I think to start with one contest. A picture is enough to compete. However a video of the running model is a bonus and can make the difference. The additional story is a good idea, why not!

I agree with you about the contest, let's see how it goes. How do we proceed? Another question, is that a tatra t87 you have pictured? Mark

Well, the best way to proceed would probably be to take Ron Cribbs up on his offer to be Contest Director a couple of posts back. You can work it out between you. I'd suggest that the two or you set things up in a private conversation so that we don't have suggestion after suggestion from other members cluttering up this post. Settle the rules between yourselves and once they are published, "no further correspondence will be entered into."
Rod.

It's a T77a. I'll send you a pm about rules and delay. That's for Sunday. It's bedtime for me now.
