This mornings ebay adventures
Got up to an email from Jennifer (tomnkat) on ebay
https://www.ebay.com/sch/tomnkat/m.html?item=223356271215&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
and a note from PayPal saying that she had refunded the whole amount for the damaged Aurora SE5A.
A good start, then I stumbled on this BIN before Chancey got a chance to see it.
A Dumas kit set up for a TD or Medallion .049 I guess.
Then I tapped in 72.960 to see if I could get a transmitter to power the wingless/tailless wonder. And found this:
Which looks a lot like this:
It's what happens when you find money in your PayPal pocket.

Nice, very nice. Looks like I gotta start watching the Bay a bit. Lol. Did you buy the plane? It does look nice. Oh well, coffee time is over. Back to the grind!

Re: This mornings ebay adventures
Yes, I bought the plane and the transmitter somewhere in the $ low twenties xmitter, low $ thirties for the Dumas Lil Tiger. Cheap shipping on both.
I have never built a plane for a TD, ought to be fun to mount one of my two .049 TD's and let 'er rip. Not sure if the one Fred sent me is a tuner or not.
I might need one Eric if this transmitter doesn't work.

If its wingspan is smaller, Ray Malstrom made a 15" one for half-A:

One could put a Cox .049 postage stamp or even a 1950's glow plug Wen Mac.
It would be a hot tamale with a .049 Tee Dee.

Re: This mornings ebay adventures
Thanks for those links George.
Heck of a wing on it. I just want to clean it up, mount a TD and 25' lines and watch my son get really dizzy. As long as I have been doing this, I have never seen a TD of any displacement pulling a plane. Ok, maybe 52' lines?
But I'm more thrilled with the wingless wonder. I happened to see this flash by while I was posting about it. Fate I guess.

I think it's the same model posted about by someone here about a year and a month ago. I'm going to try to find the plans and build the tail section and wings. Might be fun to fly a three channel floater, you don't get dizzy.
Found it here:
https://fmk-models.com/flutterbug-rc-trainer-power-glider-kit-balsa-model-plane-laser-cut-kit-electric-or-049-fmk-models-19-p.asp
No plans on the web that I can find, closest is here on outerzone. 50" span vs. 47". I could compensate.

Re: This mornings ebay adventures
The Ol Tiger is probably for the 1/2A Goodyear racing, but would also fit into the rules for 1/2A profile proto speed. That is a standing start and 10 laps I think for 1/2 mile? Anyway 42' lines .010" solid lines for the proto event. .008" would be ok, as would the spiderwire. I think it could go around 80 mph. I held the Canadian senior record at 78 mph with a stock TD .049 for a few years. 82 mph with the same plane with a running start. The pic in my avatar. The rules have changed since then, and the props are better now.

That's good to know. They are both good looking airplanes, just not what I'm used to. I'm now a more slow and go sort of guy.
Congrats on that record. 78 mph is about what my MG will do on a good day, down hill with the wind at my back.

Ok Bob. I am now back at home! It is now go time!!!! Lol. Anyways, after looking at your plane, and the link to the plans, I just may now build one. I do need an airframe for my Fox .15! Thanks for the great idea. I am just busy for a bit but will look into it further. If I can find it, I just may paint mine to match. All the best to you and your son on the flight.

Is that the plans for the 2x4? I have that model unbuilt in a box...I don't know how much model. It was advertised as complete.
Maybe the plans are in it.
You want me to look? Any chance.you want.the kit? I'm not a glider kind of guy.

Yep, it appears to be teh plans for the 2 X 4 you are asking about. A friend at work has one with a Norvel .074 and loves it. I myself have been wanting to build one of those, but man, do I HATE cutting wing ribs! I have since been thinking of an all foamy glider. Like I said, he said that it it a great flier.
