Re: Ju87D Stuka Finally!!
Congrats Bandit! The Stuka was the first COX plane I met with in around 1974..not mine but the highschool buddy gave me the engine after he smashed the poor plane..I still have the red post stamp backplate engine in my collection. Great memories.

Re: Ju87D Stuka Finally!!
A friend down the street had one of these when I was a young lad in the mid 70's.
I was lucky enough to see it fly twice that afternoon at Pope AFB NC.
What year was that one made, any indications in the manual?
They can fly rather slow on less power than one would think.

I'm glad to hear from you! ... it's very good to know you're recovering !!
Congratulations for your find!
A few years ago, I got one, reconditioned it, and never flew it, I really enjoy seeing it there on the ledge, although maybe one day I'll try to blow it up.
I saw the video that Brad left there, it's an acceptable flight speed for me, that is, I think I could stand without getting sick ... but who knows ...
I leave you a picture of my model ... the dust is part of its history hahaha

Thank you Mauricio
look at how well that right wing was lifting
at such a slow speed. Rpm peak was around 12.8k

Re: Ju87D Stuka Finally!!
One of my favorites for sure, fairly large model and box is huge. It was the last Cox model I flew, in mid 80s just walked into hobby show and grabbed one off the shelf. Imagine that!!!!
Took it home and flew it in the street, it started right up strait out of the box. Wish I would have got a dozen!! Nice score!! I been looking for a black bomb for years for mine.
Got to laugh at the box, anyone that tried to dive bomb probably destroyed the model.

Might find another one to fly. I'm thinking about taping lexan strips onto the elevator to increase the area to help with control authority. (Bandit)

Yeah I think that is the point. The carb was set too rich..my 190-1 Stuka engine swings that 3 blade prop at least near 15k...maybe I will tach it this weekend.

Yes, maybe. About my speed, almost a full rotation before it got airborne. Were it me it would probably go lean and screw me right into the ground.

Amazing that running that rich it ran for about five minutes.
My Stuka. As I remember it was a hassle to put back together.

How true CB, there is one in my picture above and probably two more on the floor.
I'm glad that you have a memory Eric, you keep me honest.
