010 power output
Any of you Hero's ever seen a published figure for the above?
It's getting dark over here now so the FMK Rainbow Bacaruda's
Maiden is happening tomorrow BUT I'm wondering if my over
engineered version is gonna be too Porky to commit aviation?
In case you're wondering it's a good 50% heavier than Indra's
That he had on utube.

Nice one Kris.
So we're around 70 Watts per pound it won't
Set the world alight but it will fly.

Guinness + aeroplane building? Don't do it kids.
It's not big and it's not clever
I thought 'I'll use that bit of scrap' , as I cut it I saw it was numbered on the back DoH!
Hence 'two stage' rudder.......

I think Guiness and maidening a plane with high wingloading is a worse combo.
010 Avec FMK MODELS MINI RAINBOW
Ok V cold (well for us soft Brits) this Morning so I didn't get out quite as earlier as I'd have liked but......
At the field no one else there (Cowards no footage this time) I plugged Batt in, banded the wings on, fuelled her up and
3 third flick she was away, took another 3 starts to get her purring.
So a chuck with left hand and off she went.
I rolled to inverted, pushed forward for half a reverse bunt, rolled inverted again, pulled back into dive started to spin then
gradually fed in oposite rudder and she flattened out nicely, I centered the rudder pushed forward OK Ok
Those of you suspicious how I managed this without ailerons are correct I'm waffling
Seriously Although model was fairly weighty she climbed like a Champ and once I remembered to flick onto low rates
she was an absolute joy to buzz round. Obviously 2 mins isn't a long time but I did manage to put some air beneath wings
before Coxy cut out.
She glided beautifully and I bought her home 1 yard from my feet. I managed another 5 flights of varying length and even coaxed a loop out of her. Of course it couldn't last I started doing low passes and eventually clipped the prop on
a mole hill that I swear wasn't on our patch last week. Of course I hadn't brought a spare with me.
Next week all being well I'll lean her out a bit more, get a little more go out of her and with a bit of luck get some
vid footage. Watch this space.

Not the best Vid you'll ever see but it's getting 'warmer' and the 010's running
better as a consequence...

Re: 010 power output
Have you tried any aerobatics yet? , ive been getting brave this week....
My favourite is flick rolls i just give it full up and right, ive never seen anything spin so quickly! , it seems to pull out ok though
My servos arent strong enough , using 2g servos the gears strip every few flights
