I have a cox piper arrow turbo 3 that needs some replacement parts. I recently bought 9gram servos but they dont fit snugly in the foam cut outs. The servos also cant move the elevator and rudder enough it goes one way fine but not the other. It could be the servo arm that I have but I dont have a different one. It also needs a control rod and clevis thing. Thanks for any help.

Re: vintage glow plane
First off WELCOME TO THE FORUM !!! Farmer bob , i know much about this plane but there are a few on here that do , tell me what kind of servos do you have that needs a replacement arm? and is the elevator moving free without the arm hooked up? Is the control rod adjustable ? And can you shim the servo to fit ?

Re: vintage glow plane
I am able to shim the servos, I already have the one for the throttle working properly. I'm not sure if I do need a new servo arm or if there's another way to fix the problem. The elevator and rudder work fine without the rods hooked up. I think it may need a little bit shorter of a control rod. The rod is adjustable but not very much. The control rod for the rudder is broken so I cant tell if that one will have the same problem. Thanks for the help!

Re: vintage glow plane
Are the rods being bent down alot to attach the arm to the servo ( sometime a little oil on the rod will help ( if its moving through a tube ? I have messed with RC before but been awhile < > If you put servo/radio controls in neutral and adjust the rod to N and put it in the middle (as to have the same amount of travel both ways ) that should do it !?! Here ck this out i am not good at telling but i could show you

Could not be more grateful for your help. Thank you for the links I was able to move the servo so it sits at neutral and I had to move it forward (make the whole a little bit longer) but it works now. I will see if I am able to make my own control arm. Fingers crossed. Thank you very much for the help!

Re: vintage glow plane
Is there anywhere I could buy a sure starter for this engine, I ran it for the first time with the regular starter wire thing but would rather have the sure starter for it. Thanks!
