Awesomeness!
When I posted about my find at the local hobby shop on the Forum a couple of weeks ago, one of the members here on the Forum asked if I would be interested in him doing the Sportsman engine restoration. I was planning on fixing it up myself, but I had no real attachment to it. When the other member said it he thought it would be a “hoot”, I couldn’t deprive him of the fun. After all, I’ll still have plenty of fun with the rest of the restoration.
The CEF member, who wishes to maintain his anonymity, turned it around in just a couple of days. I was amazed that he works that fast. And I was even more amazed at the quality of the restoration. I was just expecting the engine to be cleaned up and shipped back. What I got was this amazing piece of fine machinery:

Other than a few scratches around the mounting lugs, the thing looks as good as new. I can’t wait for my day off on Thursday to put it on the test stand and get it running.
Thank You My Friend!

Wow, that’s a nice restoration! Looks factory fresh. It’s so great to have friends in forums like this. With what’s going on in our government, it makes me feel happy to know we’re still a great group of humans with a common bond. Bee nice, do good, enjoy life.

Re: Awesomeness!
Good bones there, Mark.
Finish looks perfect, like new. Not mirror
chrome shiny. Cylinder looks flawless on
the outside. Kudos to the restorer, and
good luck with her. I have two, and they're
my easiest starters.

Re: Awesomeness!
Very beautiful restoration!
I can see why the CEF member wants to stay anonymous, they would get swamped with requests.
