Re: Forum Rules
Thanks Ron. It's nice to have a reminder every now and then. I can't help myself in trying to sort out the occasional dispute, as people will have seen- It's just in my nature I guess. My comments on certain "controversial" posts is in no way indicating that the moderators are not doing their job. I just try to make myself a bit of a peace-maker. If I step over the boundaries, please let me know. No-one needs to put up with "unfriendly" comments or those which make personal attacks. It just gets under my skin when good people are belittled.
Keep up the good work Admin/Moderators!

HEY! Wasn't a Peacemaker a COMBAT ship, from the Brits; along the lines of a Flite Streak? And you're saying that you try to ease disputes with the people here! LOL!

RE: Forum Rules
The B-36 always reminds me of the RB-36 parked at the end of the runway when I was at tech school at Chanute AFB, Beautiful Rantoul, ILL. in 1967.
It was so big that the starboard wing was over the whole base post office and they had to shorten the fuselage 20 feet in front of the wing to keep from blocking the street.
I especially remember 12.01AM on the 1st and 15th of the month walking under that thing to go to my little combo lock PO Box and praying that my little pay envelope with two twenties, a five, and a one dollar bill was there !!!!
To this day when I hear 60's rock and roll music I flash back things like that giant bomber, 100 days and a wake-up, and my FIGMO calendar !!! Those who know will grin real big right now !!
FWIW.... Steve...

Re: Forum Rules
Thanks Mark, good call but not the one I remember. Vague memory, but I think maybe a teacher or coach in college talking to his team/class. The line "Who you callin' an Ox Moron?" is definitely a line from the movie I remember.batjac wrote:Oldenginerod wrote:

Re: Forum Rules
I got it. I wasn't quite accurate, but that's the trouble with memories.
"[Bill writes "oxymoron" on the board]
Jamaal: You can't say that. That is a diss. I ain't no ox moron.
Bill: No, no, no. Not ox moron, schmuck; oxymoron."
Danny DeVito in Renaissance Man. Can't find a clip.
Rod.
(Now, back to the rules

Maybe it was spelled "Piecemaker" because it was tearing the opponent to pieces

Well, that makes most of my early planes "Piecemakers" because they usually ended up in pieces
