Nylon tubing Empty Nylon tubing

Post  jbanes1961 Wed Nov 20, 2019 12:45 pm

Hi all, does anyone have any tips for bending narrow diameter nylon tubing? I've read put a flexible cable inside and heat up tubing. I was thinking like some steel throttle cable inside then heat it up, if I can find any that small...

That would be one way. ANother used is to fill with fine sand and bend. This at least works for small metal tubing. What application are you wanting to use it for? This may also help with replies.

I have a Sullivan plastic external 1oz tank I'm going to be using. Instructions showing nylon, or brass tubing for the vent tube, angling upwards and sitting inside a little recessed area at the top of the tank. Thought I'd use the nylon tubing because it would be easier to bend, and from what I've been reading, is more resistant to nitromethane.

I tightly wrap thin iron or copper wire around brass or aluminum tubing. Tightly wrapped wire, like as a spring prevents kinks. However I didn't try this with nylon tubing, perhaps it works.

Flex cable or weedwacker line if it is the right size. A bit of heat and you should be ok.
