I know I talked to you yesterday, but Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. Along with a safe and happy holiday! The train set up is real appealing eye candy. Great job, and thanks for taking the time to both do it and show it off.

I hate to ask cuz obviously Cox Engines will not be to scale....but yer buildings are a tad small fer that engine eh?
I am sorry brother, I love you, but thinking I might help you spend a few hundred more.....
I sure wish I could remember name ---but quite too many miles northwest of you, on Ohio side is a very cool hobby store
I am gonna google fu and google earth the hell out of it.....several years ago christmas time I zoomed from Weirton over to Steubenville then up the river 20 miles to find probably the last serious hobby shop I have been in over the last 4 decades....magical place fer me......grands not so much....

It's the locomotive that is out-scale Fred, probably 1/4 larger that it should be when compared to a similar model. But it makes up for it in tractability and performance. It's a smooth easy runner with a nice low speed crawl. Just bought another one NIB to put away while I run this one. They sell passenger cars for it as well, I just think they are over-priced. I'll snap a picture showing the difference.
I may have directed you to this site before. Lionel stacked to the ceiling. I go in and buy HO from his junk boxes.

Daughter-in-law gave me a vintage Cox fuel can half full for Christmas. Gotta love DIL's like that.

I have some memory that "OO" and "HO" run on the same gauge track but are different scale. Not sure if "OO" is common in the U.S.

Totally unfamiliar with 00 Rod.
Fred probably meant the Cox engines were out of scale with the buildings. Anymore I'm thinking Engine = Locomotives. Will correct that notion next Spring.

OO is 1:76 as opposed to HO at 1:87

Yes, My error. These are On3O not HOn3. But the scale looks more S scale (1:64) than O (1:48). Maybe it's my eyesight. No matter, it runs on HO scale track.
Bought another one on ebay NIB for $48. Will put it away and run the one I have. Also bought a Bachmann HO Hawthorne Village F7 in B&O trim. Nice heft and runs better than most from creepy crawl to full speed. Nice paint and an occupied cab. By coincidence a B unit for it came with some other rolling stock I received yesterday.

Thanks Eric, Thomas Kinkade "Painter of light." He does some good stuff.
My daughter-in-law collects and displays Mort Kunstler's prints. He does fantastic paintings of Civil War scenes.

Sure is some sharp and fancy looking trains there. While I do like the looks of the old style (pictured in its styrofoam bed), I really like the looks of the ones like the grey one pictured below it. They almost look 'futuristic' and fast to me in a wierd sort of way.
