I saw that last night, spent at least ten minutes trying to figure out all the plumbing. I'm still not sure how it all works. It's almost worth fourteen bucks just to see what the heck it is. Almost.

I will post pics when I get the engine. I was mostly interested in the fuel intake.

How and where do you mount the engine to test run it? I don't see any beam mounting? The back plate mounting is impossible.
I think this engine has never been run. Just like out in California, it's a rat engine like those rat cars that look like rusted hulks with anything strapped to it to look good.

Definately 'Rat' engine of some kind. By looking at it, it would almost appear that whoever did this had done so with intent of running it inside something. Thinking either car or boat here, maybe clamped in place by the nose of the crankcase?

He cut the main fuel tank and used the reed part. He cut and filed the plastic fuel tank backplate, and used for pressure feed. Vinyl fuel hose shows. I think that engine has been clamped in a vice by the front part of cut fuel tank, because clamping sign shows on thin front part of fuel tank.

Is there a wick in the ram air intake to run on a sorta extended prime?
I recall my dad moving an old car by pouring gas on a rag, throwing it over the carburator, and starting it. It ran poorly for several minutes but moved under its own power.

I would think if you simplify the muffler apparatus and sand that solder smooth it wouldn’t look all that bad. Add a proper backplate and you may have a neat little engine. VHT sells exhaust manifold paint, can be found at local auto store.

I got what I wanted out of the deal:
#3 cylinder with piston, good compression
high compression glow head
Crankshaft
Muffler assembly, complete, (that top ring is hard to find sometimes)
If anyone wants the other parts, except for needle, reed, etc., let me know.
Parts like the “tuned pipe” looking thing, or the thing that sort of looks like the fuel input.
(Actual fuel input goes to the small tubing that goes into the needle-reed assembly).

You probably can build good runner by installing a spray bar/NV assembly in the butchered up Baby Bee fuel bowl/venturi and slapping a CG postage stamp mount on it. Reeds work better against an unblemished aluminum seal surface than on plastic. (think a Cox 290 Spook engine) In any case, thanks for satisfying our morbid curiosity.
