another stupid idea
okey I think I have gone mad
and I will tell you why
you guys remember the time I made a cox run on gasoline
well I started experimenting
Now it runs on butane
and you would ask what about the lubrication
I just filled the fuel tank with oil
and now the carb is just a oil regulator
tomorrow when the shops are open again I am gonna try to make a perfect/permanent setup
but for now my gas burner works good enough
(better video when I have the better setup)

Re: another stupid idea
just did another test
a small Creme Brulee Burner also has enough gas and flow for the engine to run
this is gonna be fun
because I am thinking of a rc boat with a reduction gearbox
run by a butane powered cox engine

Re: another stupid idea
not much
butane and propane dont like to combust trough heat
they do like sparks
butane needs temps of 405 °C to auto ignite
and the running temp of a normal nitro engine is around 105-125 °C
so I feel save enough
(also lawnmower people do this all the time)

Re: another stupid idea
Awesome!
I always thought it would be fun to make one run off hydrogen. Feeding it oil the same way. Years ago, I built a few hydrogen-oxygen electrolyzers with stainless steel plates in jars with hoses and check valves.
