Re: How do you fly a control line plane
I don’t have any trainer 1/2A kits. I could supply a Babe Bee and a control handle to get you started.
When you say you have learning disabilities, what exactly do you mean? I am not trying to pry, but it would help to know should someone want to provide a kit.
Ken Cook is spot on, this is something you can do very easily. Don’t be discouraged before you even start. If you were to build and post questions and pictures along the way we can help you complete the model.

Re: How do you fly a control line plane
Ron, you beat me to it! I would have had to refresh a Bee for him anyway.
WC, the engine he is offering is perfect for the Skyray. I'll supply that kit for you. TiteBond glue (or any yellow wood glue) will be good enough, and allow for easy cleanup as you go. It will need to dry thoroughly before you sand and paint the model.
Remember, this is not an instant gratification hobby.
What you glue today, you sand tomorrow.
Then what you paint will need to sit for two weeks to harden IF you use Rust-Oleum spray paint.
There are other faster finishes, but they won't be as cheap and will require more tools (iron-on coatings and related iron come to mind). We will leave old school dope out of the mix for now.
OK, guys...who built a Skyray most recently?
Ronnie Roddie, don't you use Rust-Oleum? Can you give a few quick hints for WC? I also seem to remember someone did one with landing gear...please add your thread link if it was here (it may have been on RCG).
Let's post pics so this young man can get an idea of where this can go.
Remember y'all, cheap and easy.

WC,
I see you now show your location in your avatar. Congratulations!
You did something I don't know how to do...and I tried to do it a few days back when I asked where you live.
Good for you! (Bad for me)

Cylinder index is just another way of asking how many model engines you have.

I don't have AMA membership. I fly on private property owned by a local church. I have used a vacant parking lot nearby in a pinch, but the concrete is in poor shape.

It'd be nice if more would use it. Can't miss it at the bottom of the home page. It depends who's on and who has the time/patience. If you want to do a live chat, my suggestion is to stay in the chatbox as long as possible and for those who eventually join, please give it several minutes for the user already in the chatbox to notice you're there.

Forums are not always instant. It takes time for members to type posts. Takes time for the right member to see your topic to respond. Some of us are on nearly 24/7 and others may only frequent every few days. Some of the best advice may come from those who may see your topic tomorrow or a few days from now.
