If you go back to the thread where I mentioned a link to a listing of all the model airplane clubs in the Fresno area, someone from one of those clubs might be able to help you with building a kit.

Re: Idk how to build.
WC,
Ron and I are working out a deal. You won't need to build. You will need to wait. I built this for another boy, but he has no interest. This plane was built for an external tanked engine.
I need this weekend to make the landing gear (with a pair of Rhode Island Roddie's wooden wheels), and remake the aluminum engine mount for Ron's Babe Bee. I figure it should go out in the mail next Monday IF you and your parents approve.

Re: Idk how to build.
I have red.
I have shipped more delicate airframes before. You (and your dad) will need to mount the landing gear and hook up the control lines.
Because of the color change, I'll need to shoot the paint this weekend. It will need a few more days for the paint to dry before shipping. It will go out next Wednesday.

Nice idea there Jim on the plywood on the Beginners Ringmaster, or at least that is what I think it is. Mine had broken there a time or two while learning......

Does it really need a paint job though? I mean as long as it flies then it’s all good

Re: Idk how to build.
WC, as you wish. I don't mind the color change...others here likes the wood showing.
New...that is plywood. Carefully feathered in because, well, I wanted to see the feathering along the individual plies.

Re: Idk how to build.
I can do a product engine. It’s difficult to do an external tank properly on a BRM though.
Jim I sent you an email last night. His parents are good with it and I probided you an address. Let me know if you received it.

Ron,
I did get it...earlier today. I sent a reply from an email address that isn't registered here...and double-tapped a return message to you from the registered one...you'll understand when you see both side-by-side.
Any chance you have a plastic-backed engine? It saves me the effort of making a new pair of mounts.
Thanks for the teamwork!

Re: Idk how to build.
Ron,
I just reread it. Today has been a doozy for me. I'm sorry for the back and forth. The solid/reliable fuel feed of the Babe Bee tank outweighs my original intent (over a year ago) of the airframe to carry more fuel.
I will backpedal and concede you are correct. It will be easier to make new mounts for the Babe Bee than to make tank straps, etc for the product engine. I have enough time and a new anvil for shaping the angles. I also have a Babe Bee template for ensuring trouble free alignment of the mounting pattern. This really is a better.solution...I just got tunnel vision on "my build." Now this one is WC's build and really should be de-tuned for the young man.
WC,
This model is known as the Baby RingMaster.
Once a year there is a worldwide call to control line fliers to fly RingMasters. Some places even have contests to see who can make the most flights with their RingMaster on that one day!
There is also a website and forum known as "The Brotherhood of the Ring" where this particular plane is cherished and honored. There are several different versions. The one you are getting is the basic stepping stone to other versions. The larger, more intricate versions sport full fuselages and built-up wings.
When you crash this plane, it can be superglued back together in a blink. Once this airframe is too badly damaged, you can strip off all that is good and use the parts/engine on your own build.
Good night all...and thanks Ron!

WC,
This is an engine like Mr. Ron is offering. Mine is a bit worn out, but I thought you may like to see one:

Re: Idk how to build.
No worries. Not a big deal. You might could just drill some more holes on the existing mount to accept either configuration. Are those nylon bolts holding the mount to the fuselage? If so they won’t last long. Not only are they really susceptible to UV damage the threads will wear off quickly due to vibration. I would consider steels bolts. Just a thought.
P.S. I like how you did the doublers.

isn't the hole pattern the same?
944_Jim wrote:WC,
Here is the front shot. I can make a color change if you like. Do you have a favorite color? I may have some of it.
Ron Cribbs, it would save me a bit of effort if you have a product engine (this mount is already drilled for one). I believe the product engine should be easier to maintain too.
944_Jim: isn't the hole pattern the same for both the babe bee and the product engine?
