DICK MATHIS PIPER CHEROKEE
Dick Mathis wrote a How TO book about U-Control flying back in 1975. He included the drawing of this plane, but it was not to any exact scale. I was looking for something to build as my first move up from building Goldberg .049 kits.
Back in 1985 I found a used McCoy .35 / 10 x 6 prop and used it to fly this plane on 70 foot lines.
What a thrill it was as my first BIG MODEL and like all successful models it needed to be given a Viking Funeral after several crashes and dozens of flights.
Here is my 2020 version, but I decided to put an old OS .15 CVA to work with a 8 x 3 prop. The video is of the 4th flight I put on this model...the only trim change so far has been equalizing the same amount of DOWN to UP.

Thanks for noticing those squares...well I mean those loops that aren't very round.
Yes, I have spent 100s of hours clearing this land and mowing it so I can fly for a few hours every year.
