Dope free build

46° yesterday...currently 0 with a -20 windchill.....blizzard conditions all night!

Just a coat of primer so far,...but wait...theres' more!....yer gonna need yer shades! long process...not that warm in basement,..long wait between coats!

So, all planes have a limited life. Even if it dies on the first day at least you are out there promoting the hobby.

I had a matter at city hall yesterday. While there I had a nice chat with the Chief of police.  I asked about flying  glow engine controline in the city park...which is actually on the edge of town along a trout stream. Lots of space and two ball fields...one fenced. I've been eyeballing it as it has a nice area for take off and landing. I assumed it would be a no go due to the noise.  He said sure ,no problem  go ahead! ...What?... Wow that was unexpected! Turns out he flew controline in the past,like most of us! No worse than the constant lawnmowers,chainsaws,leafblowers,and loud kids cars and trucks with no mufflers! We had occasionaly flew small electric foamies there when no one around. The cops would stop to watch! Benifits of a small rural town I guess!  Got the OK  to fly in BOTH parks!  I guess 2-3 minutes of a wailing Cox  is no big deal !....COOL!.......no more wallhangers!

Any feedback on wether or not I should apply this decal? Background is opaque and not sure it will look good even covered with clear. It DOES cover a mis
hap in the paint though!

Well another screw-up I guess...when the decal is slid off the white backing,its pretty much transparent. Shows the color of the wing through it. Which should have been white,or yellow...OR if I had omitted the red stripe on the outboard wing it would have neen nice. Oh well...it covered up a bad paint mishap.

I don't think I'm even gonna bother with my next project. It's twice as big and way more work. This one has been in various stages for near a year . I ain't gonna be around long enough to do a bigger one.

Are you alluding to health problems? It’s none of my business, but I have had a lot of bad news this past year and don’t want any more surprises. I hope that’s not the case.

What better way to spend your time than building something? It’s good for the mind body and soul.

It's something to do in the winter in Minnesota...not sure it's doing my mind any good though. I've become too much of a fussy perfectionist...and this thing has become a comedy of errors! And I have very little hair left to pull out!
