need help identifying these engines
If anyone can please help me to identify these two engines, I would be so thankful!!
I'm happydad's daughter and am selling some of his old engines and parts on ebay and don't want to list them incorrectly. I've already spent a few hours searching online, but probably should have started here first since you all know engines better than anyone!!
The red (Bordeaux) looks like a venom engine, but doesn't have a tank and the very front piece is not silver so I am not sure...
The silver kind of looks like a texaco .049 without the tank, but again I'm not sure.
Any help you can give is so appreciated!! I'll also share the links to my ebay sales in that section next. All proceeds go to help support my mom, happydad's wife of almost 50 years. And if you happen to notice anything in my ebay listings that is incorrect, please let me know so I can fix it and avoid any disgruntled ebay shoppers

Re: need help identifying these engines
Without geeking out too much... They are both product engines. Produced for Cox RTF planes and other various products.
To break it down further they are bitsa engines. A bit of this and a bit of that. The Bordeaux colored crankcase is a new production part.
Engines that are not complete, like a complete Venom or a complete Texaco become nameless parts engines. So even if the crankcases or some part of the engine comes from a Texaco or a Venom they still have little value.
The good news is if you break the engines down into parts they have more value. Hope that helps some.
Also if you could provide your seller name on Ebay it would make it easier to identify what you are selling.

thank you so much Ron!! That makes perfect sense and explains why they didn't match up to any of the engine photos on a cox engine database I found earlier today. I still have another giant section of engine parts to go through so will make sure to check here first before I waste hours searching online again

That would be a good idea, most of us can pick out the valuable pieces so you can sell them separately to maximize your profits.
Yeah, we have a good amount of Cox experts on here, I wouldn’t consider myself among them, but I can hold my own. Much easier to check in here first.
