Cox Messerschmitt
Hi everyone,
Apologies for clogging the forum with threads, and apologies if any aren't in the right place. as mentioned in my intro thread this is a Messerschmitt i was given. it is incomplete as it has no engine. it looks to be made of wood, so not sure if this is a homemade build, or a proper kit. either way it is very well done but does need a clean up. I also don't know what engine would go in here.
if anyone here recognises it, or has any info on it that would be great!
It looks to me it could be remote control? I am not sure how control line could be wired up to this?

Re: Cox Messerschmitt
I can help you with an orientation.
It appears to be a three-channel model, that is:
1) Aileron control (wings: warp)
2) Elevator control (up - down)
3) Motor control.
1) + 2) combination from the command, turn right and left.
Rudder: fixed.
I learned to fly radio control with exactly that configuration.
I cannot determine from here, under which plane this model aircraft was built, but if you take the following data and put it here, I can help you;
then:
Wingspan = wing length (end to end) ??
Length = Length of fuselage (including rudder) ??
Model weight: grams ??
With these data I will be able to tell you which engine would be suitable.

It could be a House of Balsa ME-109. Is the wingspan around 36".

The mounting bolt pattern in the engine cowl shows a radial mounted TeeDee or at least a Medallion engine in inverted position must have powered it once.

I'm with Ken on the House Of Balsa thoughts. Appears to be the right size and power plant for them.
