Re: Atwood miniature boat motor
Yeah....WELCOME TO THE CEF!
That looks a lot like the one I (at 7years old) received from my 12 year old next-door neighbor, after my nonstop pestering of him for “something “ to play with. Although, on mine the bottom skag was broken off and the spring that ran the prop wouldn’t stay in place. But I still had a ton of fun “Poping” that motor over. Still get that thrill with a rebuilt 049 nowadays! Didn’t know until years later that I could have probably purchased a replacement part and made a operational motor out if it.
As far as getting parts from them nowdays.....ya have to watch E-bay , Craigslist or even Facebook Marketplace for people selling the remains of their Dad’s or Grandpa’s old hobby.....look for adds that say “I don’t know anything about this stuff, It was in grandpas workshop..”
I have been looking for a set of gaskets for a Fury Sea Twin for a couple of years now, maybe someday they’ll show up!!

I have a vague memory way back in my mind that a Wen Mac piston & rod fits the Atwood.
Can anyone confirm my memory?
I have heaps of Wen Mac ones. There was a change in the piston crown, some flat and some domed. You're welcome to a couple for the cost of postage from AUS if you can find out the compatibility.
Rod.

MECOA currently show stock on the Atwod gaskets and a few other parts, including needle & spray bar.
