Re: RMS Titanic Lifeboat Scale Model
Thanks Ron. There is no decal in the kit, but a sheet of photoetched parts.

Re: RMS Titanic Lifeboat Scale Model
Thanks for comment. I didn't make seats yet. In real boat people also seat on sideboards.
I researched a little about Titanic while making this model, and read sad stories about it.

You continue to amaze me with your abilities to construct these finely detailed models Levent. Looks great.
There are many movies regarding the Titanic. Of course, the latest TITANIC being the best, But I also liked Clifton Webb's. More period like.

Crushing love story Webb/Stanwyck reconciled at the end with only minutes to live. Tragic, but's who's to say that it didn't happen in some regard considering the number of passengers that lost their lives.

Re: RMS Titanic Lifeboat Scale Model
This story has stuck with me since childhood
The Titanic Museum in Branson, MO is quite a treat. A few key pieces are modelled in full scale, other areas are vingettes. The scale model is stunning, complete with interiors in the top decks.
The music suite has a full-size Grand Piano in it. I asked the tour guide if it was ever used. He replied "We will let anyone play a piece from memory as long as it isn't chopsticks, Sir." Then, as the crowd moves to the next section, my son stayed behind and did a pretty moving 55 second piece he learned. I managed to video record the last half-minute. The guide doubled back to ask my son for more, but my son was already getting more attention than he wanted.

Love to see that video Jim. I admire anyone with musical talent. Youtube videos of young boys sitting at pianos in music stores amazing customers with their spontaneous playing.
A young boy is at the center of the Titanic movie I mentioned above.

Beautiful job Levent, attention to detail is fantastic. I enlarged it. Rope, life preservers, interior planking. You have a gift. Interesting that they put Liverpool on it instead of Titanic. Probably some sort of protocol. Maybe Titanic on the other side?

Re: RMS Titanic Lifeboat Scale Model
That came out well. I learned to row in those life boats. I still have my certificate in proficiency survival craft dated 1986. At nautical college, we were 8 in one lifeboat and the helmsman. But we learned how to steer without rudder. Each year, there was a race organized on the pond between deck officers and engineers. I later sailed on vessels built in the mid 70's that still had open lifeboats but they all had engines. 2 cylinder diesel engines that had to be started with a crank. Before cranking, 2 valves on the head had to be opened to take away the compression and when cranked at speed, the valves had to be closed quickly. A hell of a job, especially in the Persian gulf at 45°. Therefore., in case of an emergency, always row away from a ship. Mostly, the sea is on fire.

Thanks for comment. Yes, there is S S Titanic sign and a technical sign on stern. Technical sign carries size in feet and person capacity.
