Thought I would share a new to me motor that just arrived from a great gent out west. Look forward to giving it a good once over / cleaning, test stand run and flying. Would like to replace the screws hopefully they arnt the corse thread jis ones.
It's super cool that it came with the original box and sales pamphlet + nice selection of props to try, 10-6 to a cool wooden 9x7.
The exhaust has a massive trumpet on er. Bet it will sing a great note. May make a tongue muffler for it. Very strong compression, well oiled.

Thanks getback. I am not 100% what its longer term home will be yet. But I plan to test fly it on my foam core 35 sized plane that I have a mccoy 35 on right now. If also looks like an os, muffler / silencer might fit it, I like the flange set up it has. I also have a voodoo or combat cat I could build for it.
I do plan to bench run after a tune up and post a video. I'd like to do a vintage controlline motor run series or something.

Keep in mind that when you mount that engine on your existing plane that this engine is probably 1 1/2 oz. heavier than the Mccoy. Feel it out at first rather than pull into a wingover that you can't recover from.

Thanks Ken, great mension. I'll definitely do a c.g. check. May need a bit of tail weight.

I only have seen and used Fuji Film. Never knew they also made small model engines. Yours was the first, now I found another. Not sure if it's worth the asking price. It does have the box and paperwork!!

That's pretty cool. I had no idea about them myself until I bought a combat cat kit off a gent and he asked if I wanted an engine for it. It was a fuji 19 IV. It's been a very good runner, easy starting, holds a tune. I'm not sure how it stacks up to other brands, but it certainly isn't a poor Taiwan copy.
I did find this write up on them, seems like they were more prevalent in Japan. I think nitro engine prices for discontinued/ no manufacturer support or used ones is a bit bananas these days depending on the situation. If its nib, discontinued and zero part support I don't even look at it unless we are starting the discussion at %50 of retail. But I dont really collect, I'd rather pay a bit more for something supported and new.
