My mobile phone went in the toilet

My mobile phone went in the toilet
yup... much worse than my last mobile phone's going through the wash. Here's what happened..
It's a weekday/work-day.. I come home from work ok.. and I want my "comfy's" (IE; sweat-pants, slippers and favorite tee-shirt) in the bathroom. I enter, shut the door and proceed to remove the belt from my blue-jeans. I have a webbed "holster" for my phone.. which has its own belt-loop. The webbed-holster "takes flight"...................... and lands in the bowl...
Once I realized what had happened, I was like "Bruce Lee"... grabbing my phones' "holster" out of the toilet..
My phone still "sort-a" works...

Re: My mobile phone went in the toilet
my nemesis is a shirt pocket..never the toilet but bending over dogs water bowl is at least an annual dunking. Insurance is not worth it imo

Re: My mobile phone went in the toilet
Sorry for you, but I too know the feeling. 2 day old cell phone out of my hand on the dock and into the lake! Took it to work and disassembled it and put it in the paint booth on the bake cycle. No good, damage was apparently already done. I agree with Fred that warranty is not worth it. Just ended up using an old phone for my whole contract....

RE: My mobile phone went into the toilet
FWIW.
I use a good new #64 rubber band (the kind you use to mount your wings) on my cell phone and it has never failed to keep it in my pocket for many years. Also use one on my reading glasses case and on a small LED Dollar Tree light as part of my EDC (Every Day Carry) stuff.
YMMV

Re: My mobile phone went in the toilet
Well, at least it was your own toilet. I’ve dropped mine into public urinals twice. I’ve also gone after an air pod that dropped into an airplane toilet… lost that one. Most recently I dropped my phone into a deep murky canal off of Lake St Claire. Dove in after it, fully clothed in 50 degree water. and felt around in the dark. luckily I found it. Iphones really are waterproof! At least up to 12ft or so in my case.
Consider yourself lucky. After my experiences I’d happily fish around in my own toilet.

Re: My mobile phone went in the toilet
Got no problem fishing my phone out of the bowl. However if it’s full of brandons floating around I’m off to the store for a new phone!!

Ronald, You might win the award for most drowned mobile devices. What do you think? Mine went in... and I was like; NoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I snatched it with a quickness only comparable to how "Chuck Norris" would have.. then I yanked the velcro flap-closure to my webbed-phone-holster.. pulled-out my phone.. and proceeded to tear-off the non-waterproof shock-protection/shield..

Yeah, make sure you flush before you stand up.
I may have the most drowned, and also the most disgusting. They don’t make enough sanitary wipes for urinal filth.

I believe the origins are in a political ”slogan”:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let%27s_Go_Brandon
So you may want to consider where and when to use the name in that context

Re: My mobile phone went in the toilet
I hear you Kari but too late it is forever a new American Colloquialism
In America, as elsewhere are a LOT of unfortunate NAME associations, some funny some very cruel
Wonder if we can hijack this by every body thinking of one and posting
I will go first Virginia Hymen will always be asked..."Is your brother named Buster?"
