Weird Oh’s….

Weird Oh’s….
I just purchased one of these. Freddy Flameout! I thought it would be a nice conversation starter if I sit it on my desk at work. Apart from what I do we have Instrument flight school and Air Traffic Control in my work area. Thinking of swapping the Tiger decal for a USAF one. Possibly good for a few laughs at least. Of course now I want Endsville Eddy and Digger too.

Good up the AETC emblem for it, Ron.

Re: Weird Oh’s….
I have 2 Weirdo's kits: Drag Hag and Momma n Baby in Rat Finkish design. Wish I had the skills I had as a 8 year old when I had a very good collection of Revell, Monogram, and other kits (cars and planes) very well painted (By brush). Many were war planes and many were Muscle cars some Ed Roth designs.
I always wanted some of the Weirdos planes as I though they all were very cool
Astounding today how much some of those kits cost

The Axe Man surplus Store had a bunch not to long ago. It looks like someone bought 'em all and put 'em out on Ebay??

Saw this thread and your name popped into my head, Fred either has it or has to have it.

Re: Weird Oh’s….
But now the agony of relearning how to build a plastic and try and remember painting is much easier before gluing parts together. Back as a young lad I got pretty good at brush painting...today I have a few decent quality air brushes but need a nice set of colors....there in lies the rub...man that stuff got expensive!
And hopefully my surgery Monday 10th helps with the tremors
I guess this year I need to find a good eye doc and either get the correct specs or pay out of pocket for some Laser fix...very undecided

Re: Weird Oh’s….
All the best Fred. And I am sure you will be just fine and ready to paint those models in no time!
I used to build plastic models and had quite an assortment of paints. I cannot imagine now how much those little testors bottles are now.

Re: Weird Oh’s….
Yep,
Endsville Eddy, Daddy and Digger are the ones I would like to have. Possibly Drag Hag and the redneck one, can’t remember the name.
Problem with painting before gluing is the glue can mess up the paint. Depends on the glue I suppose. For sure with the Testors Orange/white tube.
I wish the actual kit was the same as the box art. The face is totally different on Flameout Freddy. I need to get paint, no hobby shops around me anymore. They all went belly up.

Re: Weird Oh’s….
My Amazon and E-bay searches don't seem to find a consolidated list of colors by brand and descriptions...just way to many choices
I learned in the 60~70s were cheaper per dinky bottle, but more costly as out of the 8 or 12 colors I never used more than a few in the set
I should have been more precise in my paint first memory
I learned that if I built the entire model then painting things in hard to get to places was a mess
think inside engine bay or trunk or interior of a car model with hood trunk and doors that open

Re: Weird Oh’s….
Ron is right about plastic glue mess. You can use canopy glue or PVA glue after painting.
