Happy Fathers Day but no bird seed
The cynic in me says a made-up day so greeting card companies can further enrich themselves. Certainally guys are not pushing for equal time with Mom's. No-one wins that battle. Mom's generally rule.
But............
My kids made mine memorable. Kids? Oldest turned 65 last week, youngest is 58. Asked me what I wanted - "A bird bath and the new Fleetwood Max Rumours LP."
Ok, got those and a Slim Whitman (Kim) album that my son remembered me listing to many many years ago. Wore my Rumours 8 track out back in the 80's. Perhaps the best album - ever. Stevie Nicks - Wow.

So a bird bath begs a bird feeder. Some may remember this bear battered feeder that I surrendered about three years ago to his persitent enjoyment.
A little glue, some new perches and it's good to go again. But I have no birdseed. Fixing that tomorrow.

Happy Father's Day to you and your son, Bob!
Nicely constructed bird feeder, or should I say, another black bear feeder and perch?

Happy Fathers’ Day Bob and all the other dads on the forum!
Here in Finland we have Fathers’ Day in November, Mothers’ Day is in early May.
I’ll see of I find those albums on spotify and check them out. This thread, however, is incomplete until you post a pic of your turntable
Nice job on the bird feeder too. Has the Bear moved elsewhere?

Re: Happy Fathers Day but no bird seed
Something out there has a grudge against me and the bird feeder!
Got up this morning and found the soil I had compacked around the pole with the blunt end of a 2X4 and a five pound sledge half dug out and the pole that I had carefully leveled leaning at an angle.

Didn't stop there, visited the bath and slopped half the water out knocking it off plumb.

I have to plumb both again. Probably not a bear, more likely the Fox that likes to spend time under the deck.
BTW, the hoe goes back in our family about a hundred years, still has the cement residue on it that I remember my father mixing back in the 1940's. Happy Fathers day Dad.

Happy Father’s Day!
Went to see my 87 yo dad yesterday…. My gift to him was a bale of Coastal hay and a bag of corn for his goats…. Doc finally told him get some help throwing 50 lb bags of feed around…, He usually buys a pickup truck load for the goats and horses…
Neat story on the hoe…. Ahhhh, Fathers

A gift from my daughter in law lisa. I sold all mine when CD's took over and yard sale'd all my albums. Regret it. Some I will never be able to recover yet with the help of the kids I have made a small start.

CD's - pretty simple. A mixture of Bose, Sony, and Teac.

Packed some more dirt around the bird feeder, more work for me (in vane) and for the critter.

Good on your Dad rdw, hard work and plenty of it keeps you young and involved.

Isn't that a photo of Linda Rhonstadt (Stone Ponies) on that one vinyl album cover?

Mireille Mathieu George, huge on the continent but never clicked here. I have most of her CD's and albums. Fluent in several languages and sings in them all. Concerts from Red square to Japan and most inbetween.

Plays best out of the Bose speakers with the Teac turned up until the windows shake.
I love Linda, got her CD's too. Both sing hit versions of Blue Bayou but Roy Orbison owns that song.
Got BF visitors, Purple Finches mostly.

Goes to show how much I recognize singers.rsv1cox wrote:Mireille Mathieu George, huge on the continent but never clicked here. I have most of her CD's and albums. Fluent in several languages and sings in them all. Concerts from Red square to Japan and most in between.

I like Linda's song, Heat Wave, as well as the one that first put her on the charts, "Beat of a Different Drum".rsv1cox wrote:I love Linda, got her CD's too. Both sing hit versions of Blue Bayou but Roy Orbison owns that song.
I like finches. My wife chased them away from nesting in our front porch, until she found out they eat thousands of bugs each. Now, they come a visit us, but no longer roost.rsv1cox wrote:Got BF visitors, Purple Finches mostly.

Re: Happy Fathers Day but no bird seed
Barely five feet tall George. Critized in liberal France for her consertative views, but the people loved her.
Two greats that drive me nutz...................

Edit.............I just let those videos rip. I could be here until midnight. Sometimes I think that I never aged much beyond 19.
Got the Eagles on cassette out in the cabin. Pretty remote, can make the windows rattle there too.

Re: Happy Fathers Day but no bird seed
Found Mireille Mathieu is a bit taller than I thought, 5'-1", but still petite.
https://abtc.ng/mireille-mathieu-biography-net-worth-age-height-songs-partner-siblings-and-parents/
Don't know if I really believe the MSM, think the fact she is popular among the common folk illustrates she is well liked in France as well as elsewhere.
Regarding my confusing Linda Rhonstadt for Mireille Mathieu on the album jacket in your photo, perhaps this clarifies it.

Bob's photo yesterday with Mireille Mathieu's face on album cover.
Versus:

My YouTube screen capture of Linda Rhonstadt singing, Desperado.
And, your link caught my attention with:
