Atlas
Quite so
I googled uk, but no parts supplier popped up.
I am after the gib adjusting screws and nuts for an old atlas 10f which of course have American threads with "odd" thread profiles.
A model fixings website ( model fixings.co.uk ) don't have these profile threads, but I will Google USA and see what pops up.
1/8 X 32
1/4 X 32
1/4 X 28
1/4 X 32 rings a bell, glow plug size
I don't want to rethreaded the castings...

Eric - Great lead on those Atlas lathes. Hope it helps Fledgling find his needed parts. Very interesting read on Atlas based in Kalamazoo,Mi just south of me. The writer gives a explanation on the use and name of ZEMAC. I believe this to be the same stuff Cox used to make Backplates?

Atlas lathe parts
Thanks for the replies guy.
I have heard of mazak ( monkey muck ) used for carbs and casting etc...
I email Tony at lathes UK, no joy.
Model fixings in UK don't stock the screws and nuts, but 1/4 X 28 rang a bell, glow plug size and thread. I have a tap and die in my cheapo tap and die set so altered some nuts but since the job screws are chewed up at the outer end, that dodge won't work.
Ideally some threaded rod would surfice so still looking. It's a very old lathe so quite worn, hence the need for some longer screws, but it still works.
New gibs I feel won't work either due to the wear.
I will keep searching...
The atlas is a tough and ready machine but the new ( only used it once so far ) small lathe is for accurate light jobs only.
I may make some new longer screws for the cross slide, only four needed.
Thanks guys.
