So This Followed Me Home Last Weekend......
Been watching this for the past few weeks for sale somewhat locally. Only a couple of very poor pictures in the 'For Sale' ad. As well, zero description. I made an offer and was turned down. Let it sit a week and made an offer 'in the middle'. Offer was accepted, and questions were answered. I thought an airboat about 14 inches wide by about 30 inches long. Nope! 48" long by 22" wide! Very solid, and very heavy. OS .50 with an original OS exhaust deflector hooked up and complete. I met up with the guy and I was initially impressed. Then I went to inspect the engine. Very stiff, and very rough. Possibly needs bearing replacement, but apparently the rear bearing is an oddball size. With it all said, I stuck to my guns with my original offer as it may require a fair bit to fix up. He gladly took it. So it came home with me. Now to install all my electronics, disassemble / clean the engine to see what the true condition really is, then be patient till spring till I can run the engine and put it in the water where it belongs. If it floats.....

Big enough to climb on and take a ride Chancey. Run it in the snow.
OS engines are tough. I wouldn't turn a thing until I got some heat on it and some light oil in the ports, and then only carefully. Goes for the needle too.
Good luck with it, and let us know how it does.

If you need bearings, Boca bearings has almost any size that you'll need?
Check out their website for the correct sizes.

Thought about using it in the snow, but I will just clean it up a bit and get it ready for the spring. I wish I could say that I didn't turn a thing before heating it up and putting some oil in it, but unfortunately I can't. Reason being is that the guy I picked it up from had it outside waiting and he told me and showed me that he got it freed up and showed me how the prop turns over. He also told me he has zero experience with these things and is why he is selling it..... I think he just got a 'lot' of stuff cheap a few years ago with good intentions, but ended up not following through. However, I have personally only flipped it over a few times when I was there to feel the bearings. Maybe tomorrow I will pull it off and do an inspection myself.
