COX Postage Stamp engine -Babe Bee & Horseshoe Backplate adapters
Having one COX Postage Stamp backplate engine , sourced from wrecked STUKA plane and currently experimenting with new toy , Ender 3 v2 printer , decided to try to make mounting adapter in Babe Bee & Horseshoe Backplate style just to test my capabilities in 3d projects.
Using such a simple but powerfull Tinkercad , in few evenings , create Babe Bee and Horseshoe backplates to fit postage stamp engine.
First measured and draw adapters in Tincercad,

Then play with print settings (PLA filament)

Still need a plane to install this engine, but work on this "Mystery" project too. More in separate topic, when finished.

Later will print COX handle,

and printed CL lines spool (file taken from Thingiverse),

finally COX Super Stunter "like"tank replica,

More will follow

Nice stuff, Pegin,
congratulations..I would use as big diameter washer on the postage stamp backplate adapter screws to keep the engine fixed in it, as possible, just for the sake of preventing the engine from escaping..

Thanx Balogh,
You are right, will do "D" shape duralumin washer, to keep the engine in place.
Its a tight fit, and screws just keep the engine in adapter.
I use largest i have in stash, just for photographing purposes.

Nenad

Nice @pegin964, I particularly like the fact that you don't even have to remove anything off the engine, and the upright position of the needle valve is retained.pegin964 wrote:Having one COX Postage Stamp backplate engine , sourced from wrecked STUKA plane and currently experimenting with new toy , Ender 3 v2 printer , decided to try to make mounting adapter in Babe Bee

Great design, I like that it uses the Babe Bee bolt pattern. I have been thinking of making a complete one piece mount much like the Cox plastic mount, but with the BB bolt pattern and made of aluminum that is machined. Only a bit of extra trouble to get the reed seat and retainer. I suppose that transferring the fine thread needle to a stock Cox backplate mount would be good too and cost effective. That would not make use of the fancy 3D Printer though.
