How to price Cox Special .15 engines Empty How to price Cox Special .15 engines

Post  Chauncey Sat Jun 10, 2023 1:06 pm

I have a never-been-run Cox Special .15. Although I purchased it new, I tossed the box at the time.

I also have a Cox Special .15 Mark II that I ran just once on a test stand. ...... no box for this one either

Neither of these engines was ever mounted and run in a model.

Can anyone here suggest how much I might get for them on Ebay ?

I'd list them here, but I'm not allowed to do so without a minimum of 5 posts.

Thanks
Chauncey

Hi Chauncey,
I'm not a big fan of Ebay but you might get an idea of prices off of R/C Groups. Look under engines and use the search function. I have seen some big money go down on those Specials, but it depends on the market and how bad someone wants the engine. Some nice pictures might help with sales and could be used in our engine of the month contest. Good luck on your sales and don't forget that we have a for sale and wanted section here on the Cox forum.

We do occasionally have those engines for sale and following are how we price them, and no problem selling them at that price:

.15 Special NIB: $495 - $595
.15 MKII NIB: $695 - $795

No packaging but new: Deduct 40%
Full packaging but run once: Deduct 30%
No packaging but run once: Deduct 50%

I believe that 5 posts means 4 more replies in a thread. You don't have or originate 5 posts. 5 replies are 5 posts.

A good start at increasing your post count would be to introduce yourself in the Introduction subforum. Very Happy
