Re: My Cox .049 Marine inboard engine
Hello
I have not being able to do much on the build lately but I installed the rudder outside of the hull. I made aluminum brackets and a new steering arm. I also installed the water pick up at the back and routed the silicone tubing to the cooling jacket and from there to the back of the boat exiting thru a small brass nozzle. I installed the trim tabs. After thinking about where to place the throttle servo I decided to place it close to the engine. I know is going to get bathed in castor oil but I thought of placing it in other locations and it would have made it a more complex installation using a bellcrank and decided on the simpler approach. I still have to install the gas tank and finish with installing receiver, battery pack and switch. here are some pics.

The boat project is looking really good Juan….. Looks like you have a solution for the throttle servo….. Another way if you wanted to put it in the rear compartment:…. Tubing sold for CA glue and .012 metal guitar string makes a good sleeve and pushrod….. I think it would make a 180 just fine with the room you have and would be able to omit the bellcrank….Just a thought….

Hello rdw777
Thanks for the idea. where do you get the CA tubing? I already went with the servo close to the engine with a short pushrod but I can use that idea on a next project that I might build.
I finished installing the radio gear Using some 1/4 inch pieces of wood glued to the bottom of the hull to attach with screws a plastic box from a Hitec D485HW servo. The first attempt I made I placed the switch on the box top and then I was not able to put the cabin on because the switch slide would stick out to far. Lucky for me I had another plastic box and I placed the switch on the side where I would be able to reach it. Now I will be taking everything out of the hull to start sanding and painting. here are a few pics of what I did.

Hi Juan, I'd been wondering about the build.. and it's looking GREAT!! You are an inspiration and catalyst for me.. with my boat build. Yours is looking like it'll be ready to run very soon.

Hi Juan, The boat is looking really nice!! Love the attention to detail!! The tubing for dispensing CA glue is available on Amazon and the bay….

Indeed very precise work and great attention to detail.
How will you push cooling water through the engine jacket? Will one of the tubes face the propeller water blast like in a real size outboard Mercury, or you just simply fix the tube end submerged under the water level, facing forward?
Regarding pushrod sleeves, I often repurpose the plastic tubes removed from either old ballpoint pens, or from the hand pumps of spent household cleaning spray bottles..these come with tubes of varying inside diameter...
