Re: Ignition Points for Ohlsson 23
This might be a dumb question but can that engine run on a glow plug ?

Yes, you can run it as glow. However, keep the nitro very low and better yet 0 nitro. Running a O&R on glow could result in the top of the engine blowing off. I've never had it happen, I've seen it though. Glow versions were generally detuned by lowering the compression.

Whilst on the subject of O&R glows-especially the front rotary ones-anyone know of a source for parts, especially the venturi insert....several of mine are minus this rather essential component....and its not the sort of thing I can whip up on the lathe...
there's various sources for repro and aftermarket bits and pieces for various ignition brands,,,but seemingly not for O&R...which is a bit surprising given how numerous they are...

You can buy another engine for the price of that timer.

Woody Bartelt passed away a few years ago and I believe his son is running the website now, probably on the side.
Not his main endeavor. The website has expanded, many more parts on there now. You used to have to buy the catalog to order from it.
I dought he's trying to hose folks over. He has tens of thousands of parts, maybe he should sell everything to Mecoa.
