Just ordered a 1/2a stork from Brodak.

Planning on a TeeDee .051 for power. Has anyone built this kit?

Dang it another plane I would like to build and fly that is a lot of wing hope a TD 049/51 is enough cuz I do not want to buy to .061/.074 size motors and I suspect a Medalion .09 may be a tad too much...maybe not it is a good sized craft

I did and all black stunter once...never again

I can't speak on behalf of Brodak's version of the Stork. I would imagine though the kit from Brodak would be laser cut. I have two versions of the Stork. My first Stork I purchased in 1985 when AJ Free flight was kitting . They produced several Sterling Kits as well. They were known for having decent wood in the kits. The other kit was made by Golden State models who purchased AJ's business. Both kits were inked print on wood like an old Comet kit. Time consuming for certain. Your tee dee .051 would have sufficient power for this plane. I personally have difficulty getting a tanked tee dee to run correctly. I love them on bladder and will run them all day long. Whenever I use a tank I'm faced with nothing but headaches. This seems to be me as others use them all the time without a flaw. The Stork has a fairly good wingspan, I feel this is a true benefit. I even feel a good medallion .049 would be a good choice. I always wanted to try the medallion carb body on the tee dee to improve fuel draw. I feel Brodak made a good choice kitting that particular plane. Both of my kits had light wood and I feel Brodak does a good job in keeping the wood light. I built the AJ kit but it had a fairly short lifespan as it was used in my early days of learning to fly inverted. I'm trying to catch up on some projects that have been on the bench. This is certainly going to be built. Ken

That TD .051 should be perfect. For a stunter you don't want it running 70 miles per hour anyway.
