Re: Glow plug Battery?
Okey, then go with the dry cell, that's what the glow plugs were designed for.
For something a little more modern, then two good D cells should give you about 10Ah and last a very long time...

Re: Glow plug Battery?
Here is what I have made and have been using.
Cross any two color ends (Blue or Red) on the center post and you get 3V, or split the center leads and put them on end posts for 1.5V.

Re: Glow plug Battery?
The wires look very thin too me, they may well reduce the voltage over your glow plug. The batteries also need to be of a high current type.

Re: Glow plug Battery?
With the little power we are talking about, I think it's fine. My RC heli pulls more power and it uses the same wires on a lipo.
Re: Glow plug Battery?
I think it is not, the cable near the battery looks really thin...
Set ups like that can be used purposely to reduce the voltage from 2V batteries. Remember that the current draw should be in the range of 1-2 Amps. You can easily measure the voltage that reaches the glow plug while it is in use.

Re: Glow plug Battery?
3.5A is safe for the wire, but you still have a voltage drop of a few tenths of a volt per meter, and that's what is important for the glow plug...
