hasb:
You'll not be finding any with a .045 engines; their engines were larger than that, more like .15's.
I have a mint Roy Cox Timble Drome Champion non-powered race car sitting on my computer table as I write.
Powered or not these cars in nice condition fetch a hefty price. You might try looking on e-bay for Cox cars and prices.

Dave, you are thinking about the Thimble Drome Champion cars that came with the .09, .15 or .19 Cameron bros engines. There is a .045 engine. The Thimble Drome Special did come with a .045 "O-Forty-Five" "Power-Pak" engine that used Anderson parts. I do know those engines are rare and usually go for some good $$ when they do come up.
Re: WANTED - Roy Cox Thimble Drome Special with original .045 engine
Thanks guys for your prompt reply!
I was actually refering to the O Forty Five engine which was made by Cox using a Anderson's cylinder, piston, conrod and cylinder head. I just also found some info via Google and apparently the thimble drome special was run on one of the first Cox engines based on the Anderson Baby Spitfire .045 (0.74 cm³), Manufactured in 1949.
At least its good to know how rare and probably expensive!

OK, I stand corrected.
The Roy Cox "Special" and the "Champion" were two different cars with two different engines the "Special" being rarer, and more expensive today, than the "Champion".

re: Thimble Drome Specail cars info:
hasb and interested persons:
This site has lots of information, parts and pictures of Roy Cox cars including the "Special":
www.tlctethercar.com
Located in Whitmore Lake, Michigan, I purchased, received and installed the missing or damaged cast-aluminum parts needed to make my Thimble-Drome Champion car extra nice.
I recommend this source highly. Enjoy!
