Years ago I got this and box full of Cox engines in a trade. Motor mount was repaired but not great. Plane flew good and engine was reworked. Finally I found lower mount and fixed motor mount. Cleaned up engine and tried again. engine really runs strong and can do inverted/ loops inside and out. Vertical 8's and all the rest. Wings are faded but still good and came with extra set of wings. These are hollow and much better than solid foam wings. At a collecto found a set of new wing skins. I have the Super Chipmonk and the Viper. They have not been flown and doubt they will be used. The ME-109 isn't a collector piece but looks good and flys well for what it is. Flying

Also years ago...that plane was highly regarded by serious stunt flyers as a "fun plane". Some of them went so far as to form an unofficial competition at the AMA Nats, I believe. Then Cox stopped making them. :-(

I had one of them many many years ago. Like the early 1970's I think. I had forgotten about over the years... but got into a conversation with my at-the-time Stunt Coach, Low Wolgast... and he said "Those things were GREAT flyers!"

That... coming from a five time National OTS Champion.... is a ringing endorsement.

Later!

Resurrecting a 4 year old thread....I am now the proud owner of the early version of the  Super Stunter.  Part of a craigslist trifecta! I got a PT 19, Stuka and this super stunter, all for one low price, no shipping or paypal fees!!  They all seem old and brittle and this Super stunter wants to fly again. Its the version with the blue foam folded wings, with the black plastic tips
Does anyone have a owners manual, or  assembly/ flight instructions?  I have a couple of simple questions:
1-what holds the wings together ? Double sided sticky tape, hot glue or what?
(What ever the original owner used is brown, dried out and not sticking together.)
2-what holds the wing tips on? (Same as above)
3-what holds the wings to the fuse?
4- the gas tank is sandwiched between the top and bottom half of the fuse, with vents pointed up and down.  Is it suppose to have a "nipple" for the fuel line or does the line get pressed into the the tank and not leak fuel?   Thanks for any assistance.

The wings were creased on the front and bent around to form the leading edge. The trailing edge used a continuous strip of double back tape internally which was approx 3/32" thick and 3/8" wide. This was set back just shy of the trailing edge and the wings were stuck together. Vinyl tape was firmly placed entirely around the root of the wing which was about 5/8"-3/4" wide and this was taped securely to the large fillet piece of the fuse. Directly in the center of the plane on the underside was a plastic plate with a screw down inside which secured the bellcrank. The tape was lapped directly over this plate as well. A very poor design and the solid wing was much stronger and superior in my opinion due to it not flexing. The fuel line does get pressed into this tank, don't insert it too far in. Wing tips were secured onto the ends of the wing with Scotch tape. I personally would use a little RC-56 canopy glue sparingly and this will keep them in place. Ken
