I have an idea for a project. I wish to use 2 of the 049 babee bees in a model b25 or similar aircraft. This will involve counter rotating engines to offset the torque effects. Obviously one will work in the normal fashion. The other will have to rotate in the opposite or reverse direction using the left hand prop.

Will these new production 049 babe bee work like that? I think so. Will be using my own electic starter that starts them very gently. Just need to know if this set up will work. Nothing else at this time about shut off times, etc. I have that issue solved.

If you are going to use electric starters make sure you have a brass drive plate. Can get them here:

or here

Can also use a thrust washer behind the drive plate to reduce galling and friction.

If you use the aluminum drive plate with an electric starter you will wear down the front of the crank case in no time and eventually push the crank pin iinto the reed housing of the tank.

The new babe bee's work the same as the first 1956 babe bee. The engine and run in either direction.

Reed engines run forward and reverse just fine. There are left handed springs available.

Some days I cannot seem to get my engines to start FORWARD...
