I finally got it all cleaned up. I'll probably run it a little later today.

Here is a before pic that I showed you guys over a year ago from:

Looks good. I've always been a fan of the PT 19. They can take a lot of abuse and keep going. What kind of band are you using for the engine mount?

Could I ask what size o-rings you used? I'm heading down today to our local hardware store for other things and thought I would try this. I also have a couple of 19s which started out as parts planes but were restored to flying condition. I like the clean look of the O rings.

What ever one I had on hand that fit, not sure on the size. I actually have 2 on the tail as I didn't have on long enough.

Hey Travis,
I have a PT-19... looks identical to yours! It's hanging in my shed with lots of other airplanes. Every time I go in there... they all scream; ROG!!! PLEASE... fly me/fix me/finish me. I feel very guilty... and take the lawn mower out. Thank goodness it's dark usually; when I put the mower away...
My PT-19 is on it's 2nd fuse. The 1st fuse had lots of flights... and at one point; I installed a single AA batt. holder near the c/g with a tiny rocker switch mounted just fwd. of the frt. windshield. I wired it to the glowhead with a tiny c-clip (top conductor) and the bottom part of a Cox glow clip, to fit between the fins. It was great once the engine was warm... (single AA was not enough amps for a cold-start) but once warmed up... you could; land, refuel, sw. "on"... start... sw. off... fly!!!
I started to have problems with the fuel tank falling off. Fuse #1 had seen lots of action. I decided (1994?) to order a new fuse and a spare tank from Cox.
Fuse #2 went into service when my nephew showed interest. It has not flown for better than 15 years. It gets it's rubber bands replaced when the wing/stab. are hanging awkwardly from their wires... (oh yes... forgot to mention; I installed .015" m.w. lead-outs)
There's also a Cox "Cosmic Wind" out there in the shed... (nice condition) Great looking (gotta love wheel pants) but not as much fun to fly, as the PT-19.
I posted some pics of my original designs in my gallery, and will upload more soon. Check em' out when ya' can.
Have fun flying your PT-19!!!
Good Luck!
Roger
