What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
I've decided to restore my vintage engine as it was my late uncle's when he was a kid. Anyway, what engine should I be on the search for to use on the Daddy-O (Yellow/Black)?

RC Golden Bee wouldn't look too bad and couldn't possibly work bad. Otherwise, if you can get a RR-1 then that would even look better.

Re: What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
How long of a flight should I expect from a stunt tank or 8cc tank?
Re: What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
Depending on the position of the pick up tube, needle adjustments, prop size, fuel... About 2-6 minutes.
Re: What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
Well, first off, reposition the pick-up tube to the bottom of the tank. Then you would have to try some different fuels and different prop sizes (as long as they are in the range for you plane). I haven't played much with the "how to get the engine to run the longest" so I can't really say what all completely has to be done.
You could also find a engine with a hole in the tank already or buy a 8cc plastic tank bowl from Matt or Bernie and drill a hole in it to connect it to a external tank.

Re: What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
A GOLDEN BEE !!!! Considering the color scheme of your cool airplane! Or a mix of Golden Bee / Black Widow tank/engine!
If you stay with the 8cc tank, make a "cap" from a bit of clear tubing with a small screw and put it on your filler tube after fueling. This makes the vent tube draw air IN only. I have yet to prove to myself in a test that it actually makes them run longer, but it DOES stop the prop blast from siphoning raw fuel...and I think that's GOT to help a little.

Re: What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
By running diesel on an 8cc tank you would probably get 8-12 min runtimes with a 6*4 to 7*5.
or I think a killer bee would look good on it. With that straw NV

OH that is a long enough run time maybe 20-30.

Yep, if you want to run longer than 6 minutes the easiest way would be to get an engine with external tank.
Re: What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
or 1 billion Kavan tank extenders :} but that would be rather leaky.

And pricey.

yes very very pricey.microflitedude wrote:nitroairplane wrote:or 1 billion Kavan tank extenders :} but that would be rather leaky.

Or you coult use a texaco to get long runties if rpm doesnt matter to you
Re: What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
Ok, so if I use a tanked engine, which one? I do have room for a remote tank, which also, which engine?

Use a black widow.
Or a killer bee with a 1oz clunk tank.
Re: What 049 should I get for the Daddy-O?
Put a throttle ring on that!
And come see us in live chat.
You will have the perfect engine especially if you keep it light.
