I'm guessing "inspection authorization". It's a step up from an A&P(airframe & powerplant mechanic).Cox International wrote:What is IA???

Gus is one of our members. His color scheme of choice for his models are white and purple.

Re: Purple Cox 049 engine ... hm ... ?
Wow! How did I miss this one? You bet I'd covet one of these purple engines, and fly it to PROVE I love it!
My goodness, When I win the couple of contests going on now,,, Maybe I could choose this engine for the prize! Dang, That sounds arrogant and bossy! I will do my best to prevail in these contests! You guys keep trying,,,but the skies will be paved with holes from GUS THE I.A. planes!
"I.A." does stand for Inspection Authorization. It is a step up in responsibility, as an I.A. is able to sign-off aircraft annual inspections, 337s and phase, and periodic inspections. I owned my own shop, and did that stuff. Now...not so much.
Maybe, I accumulate a bunch of time, then start again with a different engine. Let's see 600 hours on the .051, put 450 or 500 on the QRC, and how about 1000 hours on the .010! That ought to about wrap it up! Oh, are there that may available flying hours in a year? Uh, that could be a problem. Just wait until Ron sees this - he'll flip!

I'd say it's orchid (DA70D6) or medium orchid (BA55D3)
