PT19 RC ??
Cox manufactured RC version PT19 trainer, I think its rare, I never heard of that until I saw one in ebay . http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nice-COX-R-C-PT-19-Trainer-Plane-Model-MIB-with-Engine-/111130471581?pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item19dfe46c9d
Wonder what's AUW of this model. anyone flown one?

Re: PT19 RC ??
I campaigned one of these PT's back in the late 1980's or so. I say "campaigned" because of a friendly rivalry with a fellow flyer named Neal.
He had bought one, instantly making me envious, because it is a beautiful scale model. Right off the bat though, he declared that it's stock .049 wasn't nearly powerful enough for his tastes and so installed a Tee Dee .049 or .051 in it's snout.
After some negotiations with my charming wife-at-the-time (those were dark days), I got my own PT, pushed aside the stock .049 engine, and installed a throttle-band Medallion .09 with a metal wedge tank mounted flat-side-up in the fuselage...all conducted in dark secrecy. I flew it at first with a Cox Sanwa 2 channel radio, later using my Airtronics radio so I could throttle the thing.
I also left off the windshields, pilots, and roll over structure...all the better to psych my friend.
Upon seeing my evil creation, Neal threatened to swap out the Tee Dee for a .10 or .15, but I don't remember him doing so.
We tangled quite a bit with some pseudo racing/dog fighting antics, and I remember one incident where I thought I had radio failure when my plane didn't respond to my commands...then realizing that I was watching the wrong plane. My thought processes ran faster back then, and I saved my plummeting plane...it'd probably plant itself with the same mistake nowadays.
Anyway, amazingly, we both still have our PT's, so there COULD be some future rematch...
I weighed mine as you see it (got the cowl somewhere), and it came in at a healthy pound and 2 ounces...no doubt, SOME of it being ancient, petrified castor. In no way would I call the plane a trainer, even when new, as in my opinion, it is just too prone to the damage it would receive with it's speed and somewhat neutral stability. It would make a great second plane for someone who'd grown comfortable with an Eaglet or Kadet.
That's my buck and half...

Nice plane Kim, Can't see really nice scale plane in production for 1/2A now.
I googled just now and found that Cox actually manufactured quite a lot of 1/2A ARF RC planes from early 80's. Most are foam and looks nice.

Yeah, another one was their absolutely beautiful "Sportavia". I wore out two of them, and over the years, bought enough parts to build up another one. Like so many of my projects, it's patiently waiting...
